A mother-of-two from Gwynedd has been charged with trafficking and possessing drugs in Malaysia.

Police say they found drugs worth £15,000 at the resort run by Shivaun Orton, from Harlech, and her Malaysian husband Abdul Harris Fadilah.

Both have pleaded not guilty to drugs trafficking and possessing cannabis, amphetamines and 225g of heroin.

Malaysia's strict drug laws carry the death penalty for possessing more than 15g of heroin.

Possessing a cannabis plant carries a sentence of life imprisonment.

The next court hearing is expected on 26 January.

The couple's home in Cherating, in the northern state of Terengganu, an area popular with backpackers, was raided on 13 December.

They have two sons aged 14 and 16.
