Woman dies after car overturns at Pentyrch, Cardiff

A woman has died after the car she was driving overturned on a road in a village on the outskirts of Cardiff.

The blue Chevrolet Matiz left the road and overturned on Heol Pant Y Gored, Pentyrch, at around 1630 GMT on Thursday.

The driver was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the road was closed for three hours while officers investigated the crash and recovered the vehicle.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to help, or anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven before the crash.
