A man has been charged with the murder of an 89-year-old widow, whose body was found at her home in Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Tuesday.

George Norman Johnson, 47, of Brighton Road, Rhyl, has been charged with the murder of Florence May Habesch.

A post-mortem examination has found that Mrs Habesch died from a "blunt force" head injury.

Mr Johnson will appear before magistrates in Llandudno on Friday, North Wales Police said.

A family tribute to Mrs Habesch described her as a "private, respected lady who had many people that cared for her and who will miss her dearly".
