A pensioner has died after a 150ft (46m) fall down a cliff while, it is believed, she was trying to grab a dog.
The 73-year-old woman was flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor after the incident on the Anglesey coastal path, near Cemaes, on Monday afternoon where she was pronounced dead.
The path is looked after by Anglesey Council.
A spokesman said the council sent its condolences to the family and added an investigation was ongoing.
Coastguards teams from Moelfre, Holyhead and Cemaes attended the scene.
The woman, from the Wirral, was on holiday.
It is believed she was out walking with family when the incident took place.
An Isle of Anglesey county Council spokesperson said:"Our sincere condolences go out to the woman's family and friends."
He said the council was liaising with the emergency services to determine the exact details of the "tragic incident".
"Until we have all the relevant information, we would not wish to make any further comment at present."
