Three sell-out performances of King Lear starring Sir Derek Jacobi at a Conwy theatre have had to be cancelled because the actor has lost his voice.
Three thousand theatre goers were due to attend two performances at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on Saturday which have been cancelled because of the illness.
Friday's performance of the Shakespearean play was also affected.
Venue Cymru said it was trying to get in touch with customers to inform them.
The Donmar Warehouse production opened in Llandudno on Tuesday and Saturday was due to be its last day there, before moving onto Belfast.
Richard Jones, marketing and box office manager at Venue Cymru, said they were trying to contact as many people as possible to inform them of them about the cancellation.
He said: "A lot of people have travelled to Llandudno to see the production.
"At this stage we are just trying to get in touch with people. Those who have bought tickets for King Lear will be able to get a full refund from the box office over the coming days."
Gina McKee plays King Lear's eldest daughter Goneril in the production.
