Richard Carslake murder: Second arrest in Newport
Police have arrested a second man in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man, whose body was found in a flat in Newport.
Richard Glyn Carslake, 48, was found dead in the flat in Jeddo Street, Pill, on Wednesday.
A man, 50, from the Newport area was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 20-year-old man from Pontypool, Torfaen, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday.
He remains in custody after magistrates granted officers a further 36 hours to question him.
A post-mortem examination found that Mr Carslake died as a result of pressure to the neck and face, said police.
Det Ch Insp Ian Roberts of Gwent Police said: "We are still actively working on several of lines of enquiry and I'm grateful to the public who have contacted us so far with information.
I'm still very interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen Richard on or after 29 March, especially in the city centre or Pill areas of Newport.
"Any information, no matter how insignificant it might seem, could help the inquiry. All information would also be treated in the strictest confidence.
"Police family liaison officers remain with Richard's family at this extremely difficult time."
