Harlech sea scooter pair rescued by lifeboat

Two men have been rescued off the Gwynedd coast after being blown out to sea when the engine on their sea scooter failed.

The RNLI lifeboat from Criccieth pulled the pair to safety near Harlech on Wednesday.

One man from the Birmingham area was found clinging to the watercraft without a lifejacket, while his friend was drifting out to sea.

The pair were taken onto the life boat and their sea scooter towed to safety.

"Apart from waving the men had no other means of communicating their distress," noted lifeboat operations manager, Peter Williams.

The RNLI said it is the fourth rescue callout for the Criccieth crew in the week.
