Man, 37, critical after Rhyl assault

A man is in a critical condition after he was assaulted in Rhyl, say North Wales Police.

The 37-year-old, who is being treated at Liverpool's Walton Hospital, was attacked at about 0010 BST on Tuesday in Edward Henry Street.

Paramedics treated him for head and facial injuries before he was taken to hospital.

North Wales Police said a 23-year-old man was helping officers with their inquiries.

Forensic experts are combing the scene for evidence, which has been cordoned off by police.
