A teenager has been remanded in custody charged with armed robbery at a Flintshire garage.

Ben David Jones, 19, from Shotton, allegedly robbed the Ewloe service station on Holywell Road with a loaded air weapon on Bank Holiday Monday.

District Judge Andrew Shaw, at Flintshire magistrates' court, sent the case to Mold crown court on 10 June.

Others were arrested by police investigating the robbery but no one else has been charged.

Mr Jones is accused of robbing Stephen Oultram at the Ewloe garage of an unknown quantity of money, and possessing a loaded air weapon under the 1968 Firearms Act.

Prosecutor Matthew Ellis applied for a remand in custody, while defending solicitor Huw Roberts said there would be no application for bail.
