Blood clot kits bring Microvisk, St Asaph, jobs

A Denbighshire company has doubled in size as it prepares to launch a new home blood testing device in America.

Over the past year, Microvisk, based on St Asaph's business park, has grown from 20 to 40 employees.

The firm has designed handheld instruments for patients to work out the correct dosage of anti-coagulation medication such as Warfarin.

Trials of the kits, based on principles similar to blood sugar level monitors for diabetics, are to start in Florida.

The trials are expected to see the firm add a further 10 staff.
