Boy, nine, hurt in road incident in Rumney, Cardiff

A nine-year-old boy has been badly hurt in a road incident with a car in Cardiff.

He is in a serious but stable condition in hospital with head injuries after the incident in Wentloog Road, Rumney.

Police want to speak to any witnesses to the crash at 16:25 BST Friday, which involved a blue Nissan Micra driven by a 22-year-old woman.

It happened opposite the Rompney Castle pub.

The road was closed for two hours while police conducted initial investigations.
