The music and wakeboarding festival Wakestock will make its return to Abersoch on the Llêyn peninsula in 2012, organisers have confirmed.

The festival will be held next July at the same site as this year's event.

A 25,000 capacity audience joined in the event this summer, which included big name acts like Biffy Clyro and Ellie Goulding.

Organisers say some advance tickets will go on sale on 1 December.

In a statement on the festival's website, Wakestock organisers revealed the event will return for three days from 6 July 2012.

In the last 12 years, Wakestock has grown from a small festival attracting a few hundred people focused on the sport of wakeboarding to a massive event attracting top acts and thousands of visitors.

"The first exciting announcements about this year's music line up and wakeboarding action will be coming soon," promised the organisers.
