A woman with a leg injury was airlifted from Cadair Idris in Gwynedd on Friday evening after she slipped on rocks.

The 66-year-old had been walking around Llyn Cau and was first helped by a passing off-duty police officer.

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team were preparing to stretcher her down until the rescue helicopter from RAF Valley was called in.

The woman was taken to Bronglais hospital for further assessment and treatment.
