Three south Wales emergency control rooms are to be based at one site under plans aimed at saving £1m per year.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are to merge their control rooms and relocate to the South Wales Police headquarters in Bridgend.

The Joint Public Service Centre (JPSC) is expected to start in April 2016.

The Fire Brigades Union said it is "deeply concerned" at the loss of the fire control room in Carmarthen.
