A rare military helmet featuring a Welsh dragon on the crest is to go on display at the National Army Museum in London.

The helmet is one of nearly 2,500 artefacts undergoing conservation work at the museum.

The army has released a video and blog about the work on the helmet, thought to be for a Welsh volunteer cavalry unit from about 1830-40.

The museum, which reopens next year, has Heritage Lottery Funding.
