Christopher Cluskey denies charge after Newtown death
A 56-year-old man from Newtown has denied inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on a man who later died.
Christopher Joseph Cluskey was arrested after Thomas Morgan, 63, was found at his home in Maesyrhandir in January.
He has admitted a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm but denies the more serious charge of inflicting GBH with intent.
Judge Niclas Parry sitting at Mold Crown Court remanded Mr Cluskey in custody until his trial set for June.
Mr Cluskey, also of Maesyrhandir, appeared at a plea and case management hearing.
Simon Mills said that the prosecution would be seeking a jury verdict on the more serious charge.
