Police have named a 57-year-old man found dead at a quarry in Powys as Graham Bebb from Oswestry, Shropshire.

Mr Bebb's body was discovered at Llanymynech Quarry on Sunday morning.

Paying tribute to him, his family said he "loved an adventure and being outdoors".

Police investigating his death have appealed for anyone out walking around the quarry on Friday or Saturday to contact Welshpool police station on 101.

In a statement Mr Bebb's family said: "Llanymynech was one of his favourite walks, since he found Roman coins there when he was younger.

"On this occasion a walk turned into a tragic accident."

The family said he loved gardening, was a keen musician, a member of Rhos Orpheus male voice choir, based in the Wrexham area, and a regular churchgoer.

Speaking on Monday Dyfed-Powys Police said they did not know exactly when Mr Bebb died but there was nothing "at this stage" to indicate any suspicious circumstances.
