A Powys primary school which closed three years ago after educating local children for more than a century is going under the hammer.

Aberhafesp school near Newtown has been given a guide price of £75,000.

The school opened in 1909 and closed in summer 2011, shortly after marking its centenary

Another redundant Powys school at Dolfor was auctioned off earlier this summer.

"School buildings such as Aberhafesp's can be converted into residential and commercial properties, bringing new life to them and the communities they're in, subject to planning approval," said Andrew Turner, Partner at Morris, Marshall and Poole.

"Aberhafesp C.P. School is a good sized property and has some great potential."

The school will be auctioned at Welshpool on 25 September.
