A walker had to be airlifted from a gorge after falling near a popular waterfall in mid Wales.

The man, in his sixties, fell 10ft (3 metres) while walking near Ystradfellte Falls in the Brecon Beacons on Thursday.

Three mountain rescue teams and the Welsh Ambulance Service responded at 15.00 BST.

He had to be winched to safety by an RAF Sea King rescue helicopter sent from Royal Marine Base Chivenor.

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said the man was "battered and bruised" but not seriously injured.
