£4.2m funding for Welsh medium schools in Denbighshire
Three Welsh medium primary schools in north Denbighshire are to benefit from a £4.2m investment.
Denbighshire County Council said £3m of the money had come from the Welsh Assembly Government.
It will be used to extend Ysgol Y Llys in Prestatyn, subject to consultation and statutory approval.
The council said "remodelling works" at Ysgol Tym o'r Nant, Denbigh, and Ysgol Dewi Sant in Rhyl, would also be carried out.
Councillor Eryl Williams, lead member for education and lifelong learning said: "In particular the funding, subject to consultation, will enable the council to expand Welsh medium primary provision across the north of the county to meet the increased demand for places."
