Knife robber strikes twice on Wrexham housing estate

High visibility police patrols are being carried out on Caia Park and house to house inquiries following the attempted robberies.

Police have stepped up patrols on a Wrexham housing estate after a would-be robber struck twice.

In the first incident the offender attempted to rob a man at knifepoint on Caia Park.

A struggle ensued and the 48-year-old victim suffered minor hand injuries during the incident at Gwenfro.

Police believe the attempted robbery on Monday, 1556 BST, is linked to another on Friday, 1710, when a woman was approached by a man demanding money.

The 47-year-old woman ran to a nearby address and raised the alarm and the man ran away empty handed.

The offender is said to be aged 17-19. He is about 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall, with a slim to medium build. He has short, dark hair and a pale complexion.
