Two hundred workers at a Flintshire pizza-making factory are turning up for their last day of production.

Paramount Foods, on Deeside Industrial Park, went into administration last month and a buyer has not been found to take over the plant.

Nearly 120 jobs had already been lost at the plant over the last month.

The workforce was told last week by the joint administrators Duff and Phelps that production would end on Friday, according to the GMB union.

Production at a sister plant in Salford, which bakes the pizza bases, ended on Wednesday.

Paramount Foods employed 312 people on the Deeside Industrial Park.

It went into administration after losing a major contract, and then a deal to sell the firm fell through.

The firm is one the UK's largest producers of chilled and frozen pizzas.

Flintshire council has said it will do what it can to support local workers who need to find new employment.
