Men and dogs rescued from Snowdonia

Two men and three dogs have been rescued after getting into difficulty in low cloud in Snowdonia.

A search party was mounted when the men became lost on the Carneddau Range as half an inch of fresh snow fell in half an hour on Sunday.

The team of 20 fanned out across several mountains but eventually the men were found by members of Ogwen mountain rescue team.

They were led to safety but were unhurt.

Rescuers found them just north of 3,202ft high Foel Grach.

The men's map had blown away and they had a compass and whistle but no torch, said team spokesman Chris Lloyd.

The search took about four hours.
