The incident, involving a silver Vauxhall Corsa car, happened between Gwalchmai and Llangefni at 1017 BST on Wednesday.

North Wales Police said the driver had been bailed pending further inquiries.

Three fire crews joined ambulance crews at the scene, near the junction with the A4080.

"The cyclist was amongst a group of five cyclists and police are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the group or who witnessed the incident," said a force spokesman.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 (if in Wales), 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line), or 0845 6071002 (English language line).
