Rhayader couple led to safety in Snowdonia by Ogwen mountain rescuers

Mountain rescuers have led a couple who called for help in Snowdonia to safety.

The pair from Rhayader, Powys, had walked across the Carneddau Range and were descending a 2,000ft ridge as the light faded and snow fell on Sunday.

Members of Ogwen Mountain Rescue Team went to their aid and led them down, using a rope to help the woman.

Rescuers said the couple, in their late 20s, were reasonably well equipped and did the right thing to ask for help as snow was falling steadily.
