Snowdonia gorge walker airlifted to hospital after fall

A walker has been airlifted to hospital after falling in Snowdonia.

The 46-year-old fell 10ft into a forest gorge inland from Porthmadog on Monday evening hurting his back.

Members of the South Snowdon rescue team and an RAF Sea King helicopter from Valley in Anglesey were called to the rescue.

The walker was made comfortable and placed on a stretcher before being winched to safety and flown to hospital in Bangor for treatment.
