Walker, 80, airlifted to hospital after Snowdon fall

An 80-year-old walker has been airlifted to hospital in Bangor after plunging nearly 150ft (45m) near the summit of Snowdon.

The man, a member of a climbing club and from Worcestershire, was injured on his way down after reaching the peak.

The walker was airlifted to hospital by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley on Anglesey. He suffered face and other injuries.

Members of Llanberis Mountain Rescue team helped secure him to a stretcher.
