Bala woman hurt in attack and robbery in car park

A 50-year-old woman has been attacked during a robbery in a car park at Bala in Gwynedd.

The woman was treated for what detectives called a serious abdominal injury, but she has since been discharged from hospital.

North Wales Police have appealed for witnesses, especially anyone who saw two men in hooded tops.

The incident happened in Plasey Street between 23:30 BST on Wednesday and 00:30 BST Thursday.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Keith Jones said the police were keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any "suspicious activity".

"We value and rely on the assistance of our communities to help us when these incidents occur.

"This type of crime is a very rare event in north Wales and I would like to reassure the community of Bala that we will pursue the offenders with vigour."

North Wales Police said anyone with information is asked to contact them on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
