A woman has died within hours of a suspected house burglary in Llandudno, Conwy.

Carole Anne Wall, 58, was pronounced dead at hospital early on Monday, about an hour and a half after police attended her home.

Officers went to her home in St David's Road at 23:30 BST on Sunday after reports of a disturbance.

A 36-year-old man is under arrest on suspicion of burglary. The north Wales coroner has opened an investigation.

Police have also been conducting house-to-house inquiries in the area.

Ms Wall's next of kin are being supported by police family liaison officers.

Supt Steve Williams from North Wales Police said: "Our inquiries are continuing and I appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of St David's Road from 11.15pm last night, and may have heard anything or witnessed an incident, to contact police immediately."

The force said anyone with information could contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

North Wales central coroner John Gittins adjourned his investigation to a date to be fixed.
