A man in his 70s has been killed after crashing into the central reservation on the A55 in Conwy county.
The incident happened at Llanddulas on Tuesday at around 16:50 BST when his Citroen hit the barriers before ending up on the hard shoulder.
The man and his passenger, both from West Yorkshire, were taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital where the driver died.
North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
The crash involving the brown-coloured Citroen C4 Grand Picasso happened on the eastbound carriageway of the A55, said North Wales Police.
Ambulance crews attended the scene but the man died later in hospital.
Insp Gareth Jones of North Wales Police said: "A full investigation will now take place and we'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it."
