Hundreds of residents have signed a petition against plans for a residential centre helping drug and alcohol addicts in Gwynedd.

Arc Communities want to transform the seven-bedroom former mill house Plas Dolwen in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

It operates similar support centres in other parts of north Wales, working with the homeless or those with substance abuse issues.

So far more than 600 people have voiced their opposition.

In its planning request to the Snowdonia National Park Authority, Arc Communities says it is in the process of consulting neighbours and the community about the project.
