A Gwynedd boy has admitted raping a schoolgirl after they had sex education lessons at school.
He attacked the girl, 13, in 2012 after they went to a secluded area together following one of the classes.
The boy, also 13 at the time, asked if she wanted to try sex and despite repeatedly saying no, he pinned her down and raped her.
He was given a 12-month referral order by Dolgellau Youth Court and will be on the sex offenders list for 30 months.
North Wales Police were called after a school nurse noticed something was amiss with the girl and she revealed what had happened.
The court heard that when the boy was interviewed by police, he claimed the victim had consented before admitting the rape.
Michael Strain, defending, said his client, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had co-operated fully with the police.
District Judge Andrew Shaw said that as the case was being dealt with at a youth court, sentencing options were limited.
