The death of a 34-year-old woman in a Gwynedd village is not being treated as suspicious, said North Wales Police.

Officers were called to an address on Water Street in Penygroes in the early hours of Saturday.

Police said a local man had been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokesman said a post mortem examination had taken place. The woman's family have been informed.

Neighbours said emergency services arrived at the terraced house on the main road through Penygroes at about 00:10 GMT on Saturday morning.

"That was the first we knew something had happened," said Jean Pitts, who lives next door to the dead woman.

Mrs Pitts said the individual was a "lovely neighbour" and had lived in the property for about two years.
