WWII device closes Risca police station

A police station was sealed off when a suspected World War II device was brought in by a member of the public.

The object was taken to Risca police station near Newport at around 1750 BST on Monday after being found in a nearby river.

A 100m cordon was put in place and traffic was diverted before a bomb disposal squad arrived.

Gwent Police said the device turned out to be "inert" and the incident was over by 2015 BST.
