Police investigating a sex assault on a student in Cardiff have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.
Officers say a 20-year-old woman was walking home from the city centre in the early hours of 26 September when she was attacked in Cathays Terrace.
The man they wish to speak to is seen on CCTV footage walking with her through the Cathays area.
Police said the woman was left "extremely upset" by the attack.
DI Tudor Thomas said: "We are keen to identify the individual on CCTV and we would ask him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact South Wales Police.
"This incident has left the young woman extremely upset and [she] describes it as the worst thing that has ever happened to her.
"I would like to reassure the community that we are fully investigating this serious incident and would appeal for anyone with information to contact us no matter how insignificant it might seem."
DI Thomas said sex attacks in Cardiff had fallen but added: "I would advise people when returning home from a night out to do so in pairs or groups and to stick to well lit areas."
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Cathays CID on 02920 527 267 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
