Four teenage surfers have been rescued after getting into difficulty off the coast near Porthcawl.

Swansea Coastguards say they were alerted to the incident at Rest Bay just after 17:15 BST on Friday.

The Porthcawl inshore lifeboat was launched and help requested from an RAF search and rescue helicopter from Chivenor.

The crew of the lifeboat were able to pick the youngsters up and ferry them safely to shore.
