Prescoed open prison absconder William Philip Goldie caught

A 22-year-old man convicted of a drug offence is back in custody after absconding from Prescoed open prison in Monmouthshire.

William Philip Goldie disappeared from the prison near Usk on Wednesday.

He was serving a 30-month sentence for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

The offender was arrested in Gloucestershire area on Thursday morning and returned to the prison service.

Gwent Police have thanked the public for their assistance in helping recapture him.
