Woman rescued after river fall in Wattstown, Rhondda

A woman has been taken to hospital after falling around 7m (23 ft) down a river embankment.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to Danygraig Terrace, Wattstown, Rhondda, at 20:26 BST on Friday.

Two ladder appliances were used in the rescue, and the woman was dealt with by paramedics and taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Pontypridd.

A hospital spokeswoman said they had no details on the patient's condition.
