A murder investigation is under way in a seaside town after the body of a 52-year-old man was found at a property.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody.

South Wales Police said the man's death followed an incident at an address in Nottage, Porthcawl.

Police were called at around 00:20 BST on Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 01656 306099 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The force confirmed it was treating the death as murder and an incident room has been set up at Bridgend police station.

The investigation is ongoing and a crime scene is being preserved at the location.
