Facebook arrest after Barry and Penarth abduction bid reports

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction after a police appeal was seen on Facebook.

Police said suspicious incidents were reported on 6 and 7 January involving the driver of a green Ford Fiesta in the Vale of Glamorgan.

A member of the public read about the appeal for information on Facebook and a man was arrested.

The incidents involved females aged 14 to 25 years old.

The first involved a 14-year-old girl just before 12:30 GMT on Sunday 6 January at Rectory Road in Penarth.

The following day, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly approached at 09:15 GMT on Redlands Road in Penarth on Monday.

Police say the next incident involved a 21-year-old woman at 19:30 GMT on Winston Road in Barry; and the final one was a 22-year-old woman on Fern Drive in Barry at 21:15 GMT.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incidents.
