Lloyd & Barnes to bring 111 new jobs to Cwmbran

An insurance firm will create 111 new jobs in Torfaen over the next five years.

Lloyd & Barnes has set up a new business at Llantarnam Park in Cwmbran after receiving £990,000 from the Welsh government.

The company expects to take on 66 staff in its first year, as it develops and sells insurance policies and products.

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said the investment would bring skilled jobs to Wales.

Lloyd & Barnes has already created 10 new jobs at the site and will offer new products from its Welsh base, including Rugbyguard - an insurance policy for professional players.

Edwina Hart said the financial support from the Welsh government ensured the jobs came to Wales instead of London.

"This latest investment is set to create a significant number of new, well paid, skilled jobs and make an important contribution to the regional economy," she added.

Ortho Barnes, chairman of Lloyd & Barnes, said the financial support it received from the Welsh government would help it build the business and create high value jobs in Wales.
