Two lanes of the M4 which were closed because of a hydraulic oil spill have reopened.

It took traffic officers three hours to deal with the incident on the westbound carriageway between junction 29 for Cardiff and 28 for Tredegar Park.

Traffic Wales said it happened just before 16:00 GMT causing 13 miles of tailbacks to Magor.

The two lanes were closed for safety while the spillage was cleared, and traffic also built up eastbound.
