Neglect contributed to the accidental death of a 98-year-old hospital patient with dementia, an inquest jury has concluded.

Olive Hicks suffered bruising to her face, back and head while being hoisted from her bed at Glanrhyd Hospital, Bridgend on 23 December 2013.

She was transferred to another hospital but suffered a seizure and died later.

Staff concerned remain suspended while a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation continues.

After the inquest in Aberdare, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board said it wanted to again express its sincere condolences to Mrs Hicks's family.
