Boy trapped 20 feet down ravine near Pontypridd rescued

A boy has been rescued after being trapped 20ft down a ravine in Pontypridd.

The child, understood to 11 years old, was stuck knee-deep in mud but was not injured.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident near Lansdale Drive in Tonteg just after 15:45 GMT on Friday.

Crews from Pontypridd and Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan attended the scene.

The Welsh Ambulance Service were also present.
