Two elderly men were pulled from the sea by a lifeboat crew after their boat ran aground close to the entrance to Burry Port harbour in Carmarthenshire.

Flares were seen coming from the small fishing vessel around 19.15 BST on Monday as it took on water.

The crew of the town's inshore lifeboat took the two men ashore where they were driven to hospital by ambulance.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said the boat was anchored and left for recovery by its owners.
