Thieves strike in Swansea while elderly couple sleep

Thieves broke into an elderly couple's house in Swansea and stole jewellery and their car while they slept.

They then drove to a supermarket and used the pensioners' bank card to withdraw money from a cash point.

Police investigating Thursday's break-in at 0300 BST in Cwmbwrla have released a CCTV image of the suspects taken at Tesco on Carmarthen Road.

The stolen car, a brown Citroen Picasso with the registration number CV10 VHM, has yet to be found.

Police said the thieves forced open a front door at the couple's home on Lynn Street.

They took a handbag and a distinctive Rotary men's watch with a black face and a gold and silver strap.

At the supermarket they withdrew £250 from the cash point.

One suspect is a white man, of medium height, medium build and dark short hair.

He was wearing a white and dark coloured hooped hooded jumper.

He was accompanied by a white woman, who was thin and of medium height.

She was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and bottoms.
