Driver dies after three-lorry crash on A40 near Whitland Carmarthenshire

A 25-year-old lorry driver has died after a crash which closed the A40 in both directions near Whitland, Carmarthenshire.

The fire Service said one driver had been "severely trapped" after the crash involving three lorries at Pengawse Hill at 05:40 BST on Friday.

He was cut free and was taken to hospital with two other drivers.

The road is likely to be closed between St Clears roundabout and Penblewin roundabout until about midnight.

Traffic is affected between St Clears and Haverfordwest and a diversion has been set up via the A477 to Kilgetty and A478 through Narberth to the Penblewin roundabout.

Fire crews from Narberth and Whitland have been at the scene.
