Fatal lorry crash A40 near Whitland reopened

The A40 near Whitland, Carmarthenshire, has reopened around 24 hours after a fatal crash involving three lorries.

Council engineers worked overnight to resurface the road which was closed in both directions following the smash at Pengawse Hill at 05:40 BST on Friday.

A 25-year-old lorry driver died and the fire service said another was "severely trapped" in the incident.

The road was closed between St Clears roundabout and Penblewin roundabout until about 05:50 BST on Saturday.
