Neath van witness plea after pedestrian receives head injuries in collision

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured in a collision with a van in Neath.

The 53-year-old pedestrian was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with serious head injuries.

The incident happened at about 17:15 BST on Friday on Alfred Street.

Police said the collision involved a white Ford Transit van with "a heavily written sign" and a large roof rack.

The road was closed for about four hours while police carried out initial investigations and recovered the van.
