Kayaker rescued from River Tawe at Morriston, Swansea

A kayaker has been rescued after getting into difficulties in the River Tawe in Morriston, Swansea.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 14:45 BST on Sunday.

A crew from Morriston used lines to rescue the man who had become stranded on an island.

A spokesperson said the rescue took place near a caravan park at Ynysforgan. Paramedics were also called to the scene.
